Glossary

What is a Backlink?

A backlink is a link from another website to yours – a classic authority signal.

Quality beats quantity: topical, trustworthy sources help more than spam links. Internal links are not backlinks, but equally important for clusters and crawl paths. For GEO, citable content is often a more direct lever than pure link chasing.
