Glossary

What is a Title Tag?

The title tag is a page’s HTML title – usually the clickable headline in search results.

It signals topic and value and influences relevance and CTR. Good titles are specific, not stuffed, and distinct from cannibalizing siblings. For striking-distance keywords they are often a quick win.
